 sented the 93rd Assembly District\, including Bedford\, Harrison\, Lewisbor
 o\, Mount Kisco\, New Castle\, North Castle\, North Salem\, Pound Ridge and
  the City of White Plains\, since 2013. Since he ran in the primary to succ
 eed Rep. Nita Lowey this year instead of running for re-election\, he will 
 not return to Albany in January. </span></p><p><span>He'll join us for the 
 November General Membership meeting to talk through how the legislature and
  Westchester County have changed in the years he's been in office\, his tho
 ughts on the future opportunities and challenges related to housing\, devel
 opment\, and affordability in Westchester\, and how all of this may be shap
 ed by the results of the 2020 Elections.</span></p><p><span>In addition to 
 his years of service in the New York State Assembly\, Assemblyman Buchwald 
 was Co-Chairman of United Westchester\, a group of local\, county\, state a
 nd federal elected officials who came together after the 2018 extended powe
 r outages. Together with Assemblywoman Amy Paulin\, Buchwald is a driving f
 orce behind the Coalition for the Charitable Contribution Deduction (3CD)\,
  which consists of Nassau\, Suffolk\, and Westchester Counties\, 17 municip
 alities\, 17 school districts\, and eight state and countywide professional
  and advocacy organizations advocating against the IRS regulations that lim
 it the ability of local governments to use tax credits and charitable funds
  to adjust to the losses of the cap on the federal State and Local Tax (SAL
 T) Deduction. Prior to being elected to the legislature\, Assemblyman Buchw
 ald has been elected to the White Plains Common Council\, and had served as
  Chairman of the Metro-North Railroad Commuter Council. He practiced tax la
 w in New York for six years as an associate of the law firm Paul\, Weiss\, 
 Rifkind\, Wharton & Garrison LLP.</span></p><p><span>We'll begin with infor
