Session 1: How to Deal with OSHA and Site Safety
Is your business ready for an OSHA Inspection? Inspections could be scheduled – or they can happen unannounced. The inspection may involve routine checks or could happen due to the complaint of an employee. OSHA Inspections are conducted on a priority basis and hazardous workplaces are given top priority. Knowing how to prepare for an OSHA Inspection is critical to your business, as is the establishment of proper communication processes with OSHA officials, even when no inspection is on the horizon.
Key takeaways:
- Inspectors can inspect all areas of your business. Knowing what you can and cannot do is a must
- Employers cannot take action against employees who take action. Employers must be aware of and respect these mandates
- Processes and Employee Training Programs exist for improvements that are called for by OSHA Inspectors and can be valuable resources for builders and contractors
