Message from the President

Dear Members,

As I continue serving as President of the Building and Realty Institute, I want to thank you for your continued trust and support. I’m also pleased to continue working alongside Stacey Tompkins as Secretary and Christine McCabe as Treasurer, ensuring consistency and strong leadership as we move forward.

Through my 18 years as Director of New Project Development at Murphy Brothers Contracting, and my time serving on the BRI Board of Trustees and as Chair of the Remodelers Advisory Council, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with many of you and gain a clear understanding of the issues facing our industry across the Mid-Hudson region.

Our region continues to grow and evolve, bringing both opportunity and challenge. The BRI plays an important role in advocating for our industry, supporting responsible development, and providing meaningful resources for our members. I remain committed to ensuring the organization continues to be a strong voice and a valuable partner to those working in real estate, construction, and property management.

I also want to acknowledge the important work of the Cooperative & Condominium Advisory Council, Apartment Owners Advisory Council, Advisory Council of Managing Agents, Suppliers/Service Providers Advisory Council, Building and Allied Construction Industries and all of our affiliated councils. Their engagement and leadership are essential to the strength of the BRI and the broader industry.

As we move ahead, my focus remains on maintaining a strong, responsive organization that supports its members and reflects the realities of today’s housing market. I look forward to continuing this work together.

Thank you for your ongoing involvement and support.

All the best,

Michael Murphy
President, The Building and Realty Institute of the Hudson Valley
