Throughout the preceding decades, the BRI membership has periodically adopted amendments to the By-Laws and Constitution by means of member vote during General Membership Meetings. Most recently, the membership voted on two relatively small changes during the September 2025 General Membership Meeting.

However, there has not been a systematic top-to-bottom review of the By-Laws throughout that time. The President with the consent of the Board of Trustees convened a By-Laws Committee, chaired by BRI Treasurer Christine McCabe. The committee began meeting its work on November 3, 2025. On October 23, 2026, it completed its efforts and submitted the revised draft to the Board of Trustees for review and potential presentation to the members.

Please check back on Tuesday, November 10. At that time, this webpage should contain:

  • An explanatory memo of what the committee proposes changing and why
  • A full clean copy of the proposed By-Laws as amended.
