Member Spotlight Series: MacKenzie Forsberg’s Journey from Humble Beginnings to Industry Trailblazer
Continuing our Member Spotlight Series, we’re proud to feature MacKenzie Forsberg—valued ACMA member and dynamic COO & Co-Founder of Genesis Realty Group.
MacKenzie Forsberg’s real estate journey began at 17 as a part-time file clerk—and has since evolved into a 23-year career leading one of the Bronx and Westchester’s most dynamic property management firms. Today, she is one of three Principals of Genesis Realty Group, which owns and manages a $400 million portfolio of multifamily and commercial buildings across the metro area, with near equivalent holdings throughout the Hudson Valley and Capital Region.
A passionate advocate for housing affordability, MacKenzie oversees thousands of rent-regulated units and works daily to ensure compliance, quality housing, and respectful tenant relations—often leaning on her psychology background to build stronger resident connections. She’s also a driving force behind Genesis’ green initiatives, including solar installations and energy-efficient upgrades, and offers her insights into the current climate for new housing construction.
As a key member of the Building and Realty Institute’s Advisory Council of Managing Agents (ACMA), MacKenzie brings a Bronx-based perspective and solutions-driven mindset to some of the region’s most pressing challenges. She also serves on the Yonkers Planning Board and is active in HGAR, the New York Apartment Association (NYAA), and several women-in-business groups.
Above all, MacKenzie is committed to mentoring the next generation of real estate leaders—all while being a proud mom to twin daughters.
